Services

Allergy Testing

Allergy testing is done on the day of your visit and patients appreciate knowing their test results in about 15 minutes. The testing is done by the preferred skin scratch method. The discomfort is minimal and well tolerated by children. In cases where the skin cannot be tested (for example, the presence of severe skin disease) a blood test can be ordered.

Immunotherapy

In addition to avoidance and medication (symptom relief), immunotherapy (allergy shots) may be recommended. Immunotherapy is still the only treatment method that can actually reduce the severity of the allergy itself. The discomfort is minimal because of the very small bore of the needle. The injections are given once or twice weekly to provide our patients with the best combination of safety and efficacy.

Comprehensive Asthma Care

We provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of asthma in all ages and welcome the most severe cases. Highly specialized therapies including Xolair administration are done in our office. Dr. Kiefer has a special interest in treating asthma in infants and young children.
